Materuni water fall is one if the impressive water fall found around Kilimanjaro national park, it is one of the tallest waterfalls having 70 m height to its basin. Materuni is the home of the Chagga tribe and is still an authentic tribal village. On a clear day views of kibo peak and Moshi town can be seen from this point.
The waterfall is located at Materuni village which is found 37 km away from Moshi town, from that point there is a 40 minutes hike towards the waterfall. The waterfall is at a height of 2500 m from sea level. Materuni village is one of the villages where the Chagga people can be found.
Materuni waterfall is the main attraction; however, there are other attractions such as the botanical gardens, Chagga culture, scenic view of the area, birds, and some animals such as colobus monkeys.
At Materuni waterfall activities may include swimming, hiking, bird watching, photographing and traditional meals and brew.
The trip shall have an average of 7 hours from 9:00 hours to 16:00 hours in the evening.
